I have atteempted to make a backup USB from each macchine, have tried using USBwriter, pendrivelinux. I have mint booted on four other machines, including the machine I am using to browse this forum.
The port for the internal DVD drive does not work, and I have removed the internal DVD drive. Right now it can recognize the HDD which has nothing on it, and will occasionally recognize an external DVD drive.
The only thing I can say from my own experience, is that a regular MacbookPro don't have locks for linux.Ĭould you give the precise version of your macbook ? Are yous totaly sure ? (if not, did you tryed USBWriter if you have another computer on windows ?, or considered to boot on another computer on a liveUSB/liveCD to make the "dd" install like I said ?). So you are telling us now you have a computer that don't recognize nor USB, nor disks. But I'm responsible for nothing in your demise, and I'm just a member of this forum, like you are. Also I had installed a ubuntu on macbook a few months ago, and had no issue, so I considered it wouldn't be that of a big deal thats why I was talking that lightly of the problem. My english isn't that good, and I'm not a native. The smileys was somehow to say "god, i'm quite stupid, you have no OS, so no OSX, and mint is probably your first linux OS". Firstly i'm very sad you pick that up like a laugth.
